Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease in both adults and children. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. Part of your exam includes the following procedures: Slit Lamp Examinations, Dilated Eye Exams, Refraction for Glasses and Contact Lenses and Glaucoma Pressure Testing as well as a series of computerized tests to determine the health of your eyes. We utilize the latest cutting edge technology in order to precisely diagnose and manage diseases including Glaucoma, Macular degeneration and Cataracts. Earlier and more precise diagnosis means earlier treatment and better outcomes. We are taking an aggressive approach to diseases that previously had few treatment options. Great advances have been made in the treatment of these diseases.
In addition to providing excellent eye care, we are proud to offer comprehensive contact lens exams and fittings. One of our top priorities is to offer you outstanding vision and comfort for your contact lens needs. In addition to routine contact lens fitting, we also fit specialty contact lenses for patients with unique visual demands or patients with diseased corneas. Our office utilizes disposable soft lenses from Vistacon, CIBA, Bausch and Lomb and Cooper Vision. We offer custom correction in soft lenses designed for high prescriptions, astigmatism and bifocal application. Because of their superior optics, rigid gas permeable lenses are the perfect answer to correcting different aberrations presented by the cornea and visual system. Rigid gas permeable lenses have been proven in numerous research studies to slow the progression of nearsightedness in most individuals.
As part of our low vision therapy, we conduct low vision examinations for visual devices such as telescopes, loupes, magnifiers and computers. Our office is committed to providing vision rehabilitation for patients who have fully or partially lost their vision, who have no where else to turn or who had been told by glaucoma/retinal specialists that they simply have to live with their vision loss. We understand that each type of vision problem requires a unique therapeutic approach. Treatment plans may include prescription of glasses, custom telescopic or microscopic glasses, therapeutic filters, full-spectrum lighting and/or video magnification. Our goal is to maximize visual function for activities of daily living.
We offer specialized contact lens fitting and customized designed lenses to improve vision. Many patients suffering from keratoconus experience distorted vision with glasses and discomfort with normal contact lenses. We dedicate our time to customize the lenses for each patient's specific needs.
We can change your life and prevent a Corneal Transplant. Find more information about this procedure at www.KeratoconusInserts.com - you can watch many patient success stories here.

Do you have mild to moderate nearsightedness and astigmatism? Do you want to control your eye conditions in a safe non-surgical way and still enjoy 20/20 vision? Ortho-K may be your answer. The ability to see clearly during the day without glasses or contact lenses at no surgical risk is now a reality. Orthokeratology, also known as Ortho-K, is a treatment for myopia which utilizes specialized rigid gas permeable contact lenses. These ultra gas permeable lenses gently reshape the front of your eye as you sleep. In the morning the lenses are removed and clear vision is restored throughout the day. Most often vision improvements come after the first night of wear and can remain stable all day just after two weeks of night wear. Correct your vision while you sleep with safe therapeutic lenses and enjoy great vision all day without the hassle of glasses and daytime contacts.
Our doctors will evaluate your eyes and discuss your visual goals to help determine if you are an appropriate candidate for LASIK, PRK or Cataract Refractive Technology. If you have appropriate goals and there are no contraindications for the procedure, we will recommend a pre-operative evaluation to determine suitability for refractive surgery. This evaluation includes:
If after the pre-operative evaluation, the decision is made to proceed with surgery, your information will be forwarded to the surgeon, a pre surgery consult with a surgeon will be scheduled. Post-operative management will be provided by our doctors, and includes multiple visits over a period from the date of surgery to include medical evaluation and management of the vision and corneal healing. Evaluation of any additional needs such as reading glasses, sunglasses, or enhancement laser procedures is also included.
